News: Ok, I missed my 24 hour deadline for posting homework - so no homework assignment to turn in this week (lab 3 is still due, of course). Instead, try to answer the questions in the hw3.pdf file in the Archives - but you don't have to turn them in. After you have answered all the questions - check your answers against those in hw3ans.pdf. No fair peeking! ;-)

News: I've added the equivalent reading assignments for the Linux Administration Handbook in the Coursework section. By the way, I realize the site has been slow - there have been severe router problems upstream. Hopefully things should be better now...

Updated: Lecture 2. The su utility does set the UID, as well as the EUID - my mistake.
